Awards
A key activity of Rural Health Week will be the presentation of the inaugural Tasmanian Rural Health Awards. Communities are encouraged to nominate individuals from their community for the following awards:
Rural Health Worker Award
Awarded to a health worker employed in a rural or remote Tasmanian community. Nominations are welcome for a variety of health professions and may include those working in either a clinical or management/administrative or support capacity in a range of health care settings
Rural Health Community Award
Awarded to a resident of a rural and remote community who is not employed in the health sector or whose primary source of income is not derived from the health sector. This category could include community volunteers or individuals working in other professions eg Teaching .
The Awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Rural Health Week launch on Sunday 2 September 2007.
